IAIA DIRECTORS’ 2017 CASTING CALL
If you’re serious about acting, here is a chance not to be missed.
Following the film festival success of the award winning short films – The Blanket, Pueblo Love and The Dolls House IAIA directors are once more going into production.
Auditions are being held:
WHEN: from 1-3:30pm Thursday, September 21, 2017
WHERE: The auditorium at IAIA in Santa Fe
(A campus map can be found online at https://iaia.edu/about/campus/
Twelve of IAIA’s most talented director students will be holding an open casting call under the supervision of director Peter M. Kershaw and teacher of CINE 350 – Directing class.
Said Peter Kershaw “What’s great about the event is we run it in a European audition style that is more akin to speed dating. All the actors present get the chance to work with a director on possible scenes. Then we rotate, and the actors move on experience working with a different director. This constant carousel of ten or fifteen minutes of intense scene work not only helps the directors learn about their story and see how different actors bring their characters alive but it also gives the actors the chance to gain insight from working with a range of very talented young directors. All within the unique perspective of Cinematic students in the Institute of American Indian Arts.”
While actors are encouraged to turn up on September 21 preference will be given to those who also submit a head shot and resume via email Pkershaw@iaia.edu prior to Sept. 20th 2017.
If you’re an actor looking to take part in the upcoming productions slated for October and November 2017 or just want to attend the auditions for this experience please register your interest by email at – Pkershaw@iaia.edu under the heading – DIRECTORS AUDITION.
